Roadshow days in Miami, run to the minute

Brickell has grown into one of the busiest financial districts in the country, and a roadshow here has a rhythm: 8 a.m. at a fund on Brickell Avenue, 9:30 in a tower at Brickell City Centre, 11:00 across the river Downtown, lunch pitch in Coral Gables, then a dash to MIA for the evening flight to New York. My job is to make the transportation invisible so the only thing your team thinks about is the next room.

Here is how I run these days. I get the schedule the night before, in whatever form your assistant has it. I map the parking and valet situation at every address, because in Brickell knowing which building lets a car stage on the ramp is worth more than any GPS. Between meetings I am at the door, not around the corner, and if a meeting runs forty minutes long, nobody has to text me. I saw the calendar. I adjusted.

The car matters on these days. Most roadshow clients take the Luxury SUV so four people can work face to face with laptops open, or the First Class sedan for a principal traveling with one aide. WiFi runs the whole day, phones stay charged, garment bags hang properly, and the presentation boxes never leave the trunk until they are needed.

I have driven enough of these to know the real value is composure. Markets move, meetings reshuffle, flights change. You need one person outside the building who simply absorbs the chaos and says, "Whenever you are ready." That is me. Book the day, send the schedule, and consider the ground game handled.
